JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, The Axel Lidenbrock mystery, is an immersive theater piece freely inspired by the famous novel by Jules Verne and scheduled at the Gouffre de Padirac in May 2024. An immersive show bringing together more than 14 actors and extras performing in a fantastic natural setting.
In 1864, Jules Verne published his famous adventure novel, Journey to the Center of the Earth. To mark the 160th anniversary of its publication, immerse yourself in the world of the book through a unique immersive theater piece.
SYNOPSIS
It is the spring of 1899 and you are invited to the inauguration evening of the Gouffre de Padirac. Edouard-Alfred Martel, pioneer in the exploration of this major geological curiosity, is happy to give a preview to a few selected chosen ones on the other hand, the famous “Devil's Hole” of the Dordogne valley. For the occasion, several distinguished guests are invited to the celebration including the illustrious novelist Jules Verne and the actress Sarah Bernhardt. But while the evening is in full swing, a young woman, in panic, bursts in. It's Elizabeth, she explains that her fiancé, Axel Lidenbrock, went down alone into the Abyss and that he disappeared, kidnapped by a winged monster. Visitors will then go on a real manhunt and descend to the center of the Earth to find him. Throughout their journey, visitors will meet our protagonists. Together they will discover the depths of the Earth and be transported into the fabulous universe of Jules Verne in order to solve the mystery of the disappearance of Axel Lidenbrock.
